The Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) held the press conference in Beijing on November 15, 2007, releasing the statistics of the scientific and technological papers of China in 2006. 　 

According to the statistics, in 2006, Institute of Zoology (IOZ), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), have published 214 first-author SCI papers. The number of SCI papers of IOZ ranked 17th in research institutions in China.

In 2006, 223 SCI papers of IOZ were cited 524 times, ranking 20th in research institutions in China. Ninety-nine papers, with IOZ as first-author institute, were included in MEDLINE in 2006, ranking 10th in Chinese research institutions.

IOZ have published 157 SCI papers in the field of biology in 2006, ranking 9th and 2nd in China and in CAS respectively.

Ever since 2002, the number of SCI papers published by IOZ has remained in the Top 20 in Chinese research institutions for five successive years. The citation of SCI papers remained in the Top 20 for two years. Ever since 2004, the number of MEDLINE papers of IOZ remained in the Top 20 in research institutions in China for three years on end.
