The 23rd International Congress of Conservation Biology will be Held in Beijing in July, 2009

The 23rd International Congress of Conservation Biology, jointly hosted by Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), will be held in Beijing from July 11 to July 16, 2009. According to the preliminary agreement, this conference will be held at China National Convention Center (CNCC), which is one of the main constructions in 2008 Olympic Games.

As one of the most authoritative conferences in this field, the International Congress of Conservation Biology is held once a year. The fields of this conference include climate change and environmental protection, conversation of biodiversity, protection of endangered species, conversation of marine biology, and ecological economics, etc.

In 2009, it will be the first time for this conference to be held in an Asian country. The 23rd International Congress of Conservation Biology will have great impact on international cooperation and communication between Chinese experts and foreign counterparts. Research in the field of conversation biology will be greatly promoted. Related exhibitions and other publicity activities, sponsored by this conference, will have good influence on people’s awareness of ecological and environmental protection, and will promote the comprehensive sustained development of economy and society.
