Limits to sustained energy intake – some implications

By Professor John R. Speakman

School of Biological Sciences, University of Aberdeen, UK

Group leader of Energetics Research Group

  Time:10:40-11:30am ,  24 Sep. 2009 (Thu.

Place:Lecture Hall A401, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Brief Introduction:

Research in the energetics group has covered six different areas that are affected by the phenomena of energy expenditure and energy balance. Research in four of these areas (obesity, ageing, limits on sustained energy expenditure, and quantification of free-living energy demands) are all ongoing active areas of research. Work in another two (the energetics of flight and bat biology) are both areas that are now largely completed.
