  • Research Interests:

Cave habitats are characterized by perpetual darkness and food scarcity. Cavefish have evolved a suite of phenotypes to cope with the cave environment. The genus Sinocyclocheilus, which is endemic to China, show astonishing diversity of adaptive features. We use zebrafish and Sinocyclocheilus cavefish as model animals, high-throughput sequencing and classical developmental biology experimental techniques as methods to resolve biological puzzles.
