Dr. Jie Hao, Ph.D., is a researcher and the director of the National Stem Cell Resource Center (NSCRC) at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She earned her Bachelor of Science from Northwest A&F University in 2004 and her Ph.D. in Science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. Following the completion of her postdoctoral fellowship in 2012, she joined the Institute of Zoology as a full-time researcher. Dr. Hao has published over 60 articles in journals such as Cell Research as corresponding and first author (including co-first authorships), and has contributed to 6 edited volumes. She has led or participated in more than 20 national and provincial research projects, secured over 20 invention patents, and spearheaded the formulation of more than 30 domestic and international standards, receiving upwards of 10 national and provincial awards. Building on her research achievements, she has been involved in over 10 stem cell clinical studies registered with national authorities and contributed to the successful approvals of 5 phase I/II clinical trials from the National Medical Products Administration, with several projects successfully yielding technological innovations. In recognition of her contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, she has received honors including the National “March 8th Red Banner Pacesetter”, while her team has been awarded accolades such as the National “May Day Model for Women” and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Advanced Collective Award. |

The long-term goal of Dr. Jie Hao’s research is to develop innovative cellular resources—including novel stem cells and other cell types for the biopharmaceutical industry—and to advance the development of stem cell-based therapeutics. Dr. Jie Hao is dedicated to establishing a standardized stem cell resource bank and exploring effective pathways for translating stem cell research into clinical applications while supporting technological innovation. |
