Research Interests:

Engaged primarily in research on ecological aging and aging plasticity. Aging is an inevitable life history process in animals, but the rate of aging is highly plastic in response to the environment. Locusts exhibit density-dependent phenotypic plasticity, with significant differences in lifespan and aging rate between gregarious and solitary phases. By leveraging the unique aging plasticity characteristics of locusts, we aim to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying the aging plasticity in response to environmental changes, as well as the ecological adaptiveness of aging regulation in animals.
