I (Akbarjon Rozimov) and Dr. Xinxin Li recently attended the 10th International Symposium on Sturgeon which was hold on 19-24 October 2025 in Yichang, China. We have met Vise-president of the World Sturgeon Conservation Society Prof. Joern Gessner (in the left) and Chair of the IUCN SSC Sturgeon Specialist Group Prof. Arne Ludwig (second from right).

In this photo, we were collecting Chatkal Sculpin (Cottus jaxartensis) from the Ugam River, a tributary of the Syr Darya River in Uzbekistan. Three colleagues are from the Tennessee Aquarium, USA, and researchers of the Institute of Zoology, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, March 2025.
