Together with China Zoological Society and China Entomological Society, IOZ publishes seven academic periodicals: Zoological Systematics (formerly Acta Zoologica Sinica), Acta Entomologica Sinica, Chinese Journal of Zoology, Chinese Journal of Applied Entomology, and three English periodicals, Insect Science (formerly Entomologica Sinica), Integrative Zoology, and Current Zoology. In 2005, the English journal Insect Science was jointly published by IOZ and Blackwell Publishing, Inc. In April, 2007, Insect Science was embodied by Science Citation Index (SCI), being the only SCI source journal in the field of entomology in China. In 2005, ISZS published its society journal Integrative Zoology. From December 2008, the Chinese Journal of Zoology was published in English.
