In recent years, IOZ undertook many international projects. Several major projects and achievements have been recognized nationally or internationally in the fields of reproduction and development, animal clone, control and management of pest insects and rodents, monitoring and control of invasive species, prevention and control of wildlife-borne infectious diseases, conservation of wild animals, and biopesticide industrialization. Besides, IOZ founded some international joint research units, including Sino-French Joint Laboratory for Biology of Mammalians Embryonic Cells (LABIOCEM), Center for Computational and Evolutionary Biology (CCEB), and China-Australia Virtual Taxonomy Laboratory.
