Membrane Biology

"Research in this theme aims to achieve a scientific understanding of the molecular mechanisms of cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis in the aspect of membrane molecular biology, via analyzing the effect of membrane proteins on cell apoptosis, stem cell maintenance and differentiation, as well as cell senescence regulation. Integrative research includes the identification of cell differentiation, senescence and apoptosis-related genes and their transmembrane signal pathways. Our current research concerns signal regulation in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, mechanisms of transmembrane signal transduction in regulating immunity, relationship between telomere, mitochondria and free radical, and cell fate, development of novel therapeutic approaches.
