The main aim of this research theme is to achieve a scientific understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the process of reproduction, and to identify new genes and their biological functions. Another research topic is the study of mechanisms regulating cell differentiation and dedifferentiation by analysis of gene expression, protein profile and transcriptional regulation, providing knowledge support to stem cell research and therapeutic cloning application. Research also involves cloning and transgenic technologies, serving livestock breeding and transgenic medicine production.
